Dear [Name],
We are delighted to announce that the 31st ECSS Annual Congress in 2026 will be held from 7 to 10 July in the Olympic Capital Lausanne, in the Canton of Vaud in Switzerland, under the motto of
Coming back to the Olympic Capital
Our local hosts are the University of Lausanne (UNIL) and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) with Emeritus Professor Bengt Kayser (UNIL) as Congress President and Emeritus Professor Kamiar Aminian (EPFL) as Congress Co-President.
UNIL was founded in 1537 as a school of theology, before being declared a university in 1890. With an illustrious 450-year-old history, UNIL is the second oldest in Switzerland and one of the oldest universities in the world to be in continuous operation. As of 2023, close to 17,000 students are enrolled at UNIL in various faculties. EPFL was founded in 1853 as a private school, which in 1969 became one of Switzerland’s two federal institutes of technology. Today, EPFL boasts of students, faculty and staff from over 120 nations.
